Johari McGee

In the heart of Chicago, a city with a long musical history, there is Johari McGee; minister, musician, artist, and songwriter. He began his music & ministry journey at the age of 5 at Eureka Missionary Baptist Church. His talent was not kept hidden for long, Johari won not once, but three times on the Apollo's legendary Amateur Night stage. He maintained his national profile at an early age by performing on Bobby Jones Gospel and worked with the prestigious Gospel Music Workshop of America.

Johari has not only performed on church stages but he has shared platforms with a diverse range of notable acts, from the iconic Queen of Funk, Chaka Khan, to the soulful SWV, the suave PJ Morton to gospel greats like Donald Lawrence, Richard Smallwood, Donnie McClurkin, Edwin Hawkins, Albertina Walker, Dorothy Norwood, Shirley Ceaser, Kirk Franklin, Malcolm Williams, Deandre Patterson, Maceo Woods, Mark Hubbard, and JJ Hairston.

Johari is more than just a music artist; he’s also collaborated with Adrian B. King, Pharis Evans Jr., Jay Rhythmm, Bryant Jones, Tim White, and Kevin Cardell as a songwriter. Johari's music is more than just a set of notes and melodies. It demonstrates his faith, journey, and determination. Johari McGee exemplifies hope, talent, and divine musicianship. He's a true Chicago treasure.
